Mariko Shirazi received her B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks (UAF) in 1996, and her M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 2007 and 2009, respectively.
From 1996 to 2004, she worked at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) National Wind Technology Center, and from 2009 to 2017, she was with NREL’s Power Systems Engineering Center. She is currently research faculty at the Alaska Center for Energy and Power (UAF).
Her research focuses on bridging power electronics and power systems to better understand the performance of converter-dominated power systems.
