Principal Engineer, New Technology Group, Energy Queensland Alan is the Principal Engineer in the New Technology Group at Energy Queensland, leading the MIST Facility and Innovation Lab in Cairns — an advanced test laboratory driving innovation in modern power systems. His work focuses on the integration of new energy resources into distribution and isolated networks, with particular expertise in modelling and validating power converters and energy storage technologies alongside traditional network assets. Alan is highly experienced in hardware-in-the-loop testing using real-time simulation and has extensive hands-on experience in laboratory testing and field trials of emerging technologies supporting Queensland’s energy transition. |
